K.S. Resmi is a skilled professional classical music vocalist from Kerala, South India. She has 35 years of continuous study of Carnatic music, is the foremost disciple of Dr. K. Omanakutty, and now studies with Shrimathi Lalitha Shivakumar for Carnatic music (South Indian classical). Resmi also studied Kathakali padams from Sri Nelliyode Vasudevan Namboodiri (traditional music of Kerala). Her training in Hindustani vocal music (North Indian classical) was with Sri Ramesh Narayan and Dhrupad vocal with Ramakant Gundecha of Gundecha Brothers.  She also studied Carnatic vina with Shrimathi Kamala Lekshmi. She earned her BA and MA degrees in South Indian classical vocal music performance at the University of Kerala in India. Resmi has taught Carnatic vocal as a full-time tenured faculty member in the Department of Indian Music at the University of Madras in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India from 2004-2007. Previously, she taught Carnatic vocal at Sangita Bharati – Malabar Gopalan Nair Memorial Music and Research Center in Kerala, India from 1995-2004.  K.S. Resmi is a highly experienced performer of Indian Carnatic classical music having performed on numerous tours both nationally all over India and internationally all over the USA, Germany, and Scotland. She is featured on 19 CD recordings between 2001 and 2013 including the acclaimed 6 CD set of compositions by Sri Swathi Thirunal Maharaja called Swathi, released on Rajalakshmi Audio in 2003. She is the first woman in the world to be featured on a CD recording of Kathakali padams entitled Samyamakannorudyanam, released in 2001 by Sangita Bharati.  In the USA, she has performed fusion concerts and recordings with Amrit Nataraj, Dennis Haklar, Larry Coryell, N. Scott Robinson, Mark Holland, Dave Ballou, Shane Shanahan, Brandon Terzic, David Kuckhermann, Ensemble Datura, Dale Ockerman Project, Oxymora, Yousif Sheronick, and Steáfán Hannigan.

Resmi is the founder of the very first online Karnatic Music school in the world starting in 2006 and has found Karma, Inc. (Karnatic Music America) in 2022 to support Indian arts in the USA. She has released a series of digital music videos recorded in India and released worldwide with Eashane Koti Surya (2016), Marathaka Manivarn (2019), Puranapana Puranadham (2020), Om Nama Shivaya Gurave (2021), and Nara Jeevitham (2023). She was also the producer for her students of these music videos recorded in India and released worldwide on YouTube Baro Krishnayya (2021) & Namo Namo (2023).
